I've seen so many people decry the 'character' of James Bond as just some typical spy role who can be played by anybody. Now, for me and Bond fans, we know this to be ludicrous at best. Downright ignorant at worst. 1:25 Take a look at Craig's face. Particularly the rings arouns his eyes. Even with pounds of makeup, there was no getting rid of the two marks that perfectly encapsulated what it means to play James Bond. When you play James Bond, you're not playing any old agent. You're practically playing a person whose connection to the real world is fascinatingly/nearly legitimate. Playing Bond takes a toll on one's body and mental state. As we see in the close ups of Craigs face, it's obvious he filmed this scene on very few hours of sleep, and it was reflected in the tiredness of his voice. There's a reason Craig said "I'd rather slash my wrists" when asked during an interview if he would want to do another movie after 2015's 'Spectre'. He obviously toughed it out.
